1,211 COVID-19 Cases The ‘Highest’ Being Reported In 24 Hours As India Crosses The 10,000 Mark

As the coronavirus cases are closing in on 20 lakhs globally they have started to gain pace in India. India has reported its highest daily count a whopping 1,211 cases in the last 24 hours. This has put the number of cases in India well past the 10,000 mark.

Data published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has revealed the stats. As or the data 31 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll now stands at around 361 in the country. This comes at a time when the nation is standing on the 21st day of national lockdown.

As per the government if the lockdown was not there the cases would have been in lakhs. Reports have shown that the lockdown has slowed down the rate of spread from 20% before to 17% now. The Prime Minister today announced the extension of the lockdown for another 19 days earlier today.

Maharashtra remained the worst-hit state with the most number of cases and deaths. The state has so far recorded 2.455 cases and 160 deaths. New Delhi with 1,510 cases and Tamil Nadu, which has reported 1,173 cases to follow the chart.
