14,840 cases were reported in the province on a single day. This comes after 2,015 new cases nationwide the lowest since 30th January being reported a day before. The day also saw a record rise in deaths suggesting a much bigger crisis facing China and the world.
A day before Medical advisor who predicted that it would be over by April were pushing there predictions. Health officials in Hubei said 242 people had died from the flu-like virus on Wednesday. This is the fastest rise in the daily count since the pathogen was identified in December.
So, far close to 1,500 people have died while over 60,000 people have now been confirmed to be affected. The rise in the cases and the spread of the virus has hit the economy of China hard.
