2 Lashkar Terrorists From PAK Had The Aim To Target Yatra Shot Dead

Two Pakistan-based terrorists said to be linked with the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit were killed in an encounter conducted late at night in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the Police, they aimed to target the Amarnath Yatra which starts on June 30. An encounter took place in Srinagar’s Bemina area in which a cop also suffered minor injuries. This encounter took place amid the series of attacks executed in the valley on civilians.

Three Terrorists Involved

Attack was planned by the three terrorists on the Yatra, out of which two were from Pakistan and one was a local who reached the country in 2018 and was living since, as the officials pointed out.

A tweet posted by Kashmir Zone Police said, “Pakistan-based handlers had sent two Pakistani terrorists of LeT terror outfit along with one local terrorist Adil Hussain Mir of Pahalgam Anantnag, who has been in Pakistan since 2018 (now all 3 killed), intending to attack Yatra: IGP Kashmir. (sic).” the local terrorist entered the country through Wagah in 2018.

One Of The Terrorist Identified

Kashmir Inspector General of Police called the operation ‘a big success’, and informed that one of the terrorists was from Pakistan’s Faisalabad, in a tweet. Two terrorists had run away from the encounter in Sopore and were being traced by the authorities since. From the encounter spot, documents and weapons were recovered
