35 Percent Rise In India’s Weekly COVID-19 Cases

After witnessing the decline in COVID-19 cases for 11 weeks tension is rising among citizens. India’s weekly COVID-19 cases are up by 35 per cent, as the number of cases are rising in infectious states that include Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

So far the surge is limited to these three states and all over case figures remain low. India has recorded 6,610 new COVID-19 cases this week from April 11 to April 17. And before this period in the previous seven days, 4900 cases were detected as per TOI.

Kerala COVID-19 Situation

Approx. 7,010 cases were detected by Kerala in the previous week. In overall comparison, COVID-19 cases declined in Kerala as the state has stopped publishing the data. Between the period April 4 to April 10 Kerala has issued 2,185 cases in a week.

Surge In Three States

  • This week all the three states Haryana, Delhi, and UP have seen a rise in COVID cases which have doubled this week. With a rise of 145 per cent Delhi has seen an intense boost in COVID cases out of the three with 2,307 fresh ones.
  • In Haryana, the cases are up by 118 per cent with the recorded 119 fresh cases in comparison to the previous 514.
  • As in UP, the cases are up by 141 per cent, as they have reported 540 new cases this week in comparison to the last count of 224.
  • The majority of new cases are being reported by the three NCR cities Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad.

Neutral States

In Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan the number of COVID-19 cases remain unchanged. Rajasthan has seen a very minimal change of 90 COVID cases from the previous 67 last week.
