50% Of Child Abuse Content Shared On Social Media is On Twitter – IWF

As per the latest findings by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), nearly half the content on child abuse is being shared on microblogging site Twitter. This, in total, makes 1,396 incidents of child abuse of the total 2,835 incidents in the past three years.

Notably, Microsoft nurtured, Bing search engine was second on the list with 604 incidents recorded between 2016 and 2018. Amazon (375) and Google (348) follow the lead. “The IWF found 72 incidents of abuse being openly hosted on Facebook, 18 on its sister site Instagram and 22 on YouTube,” said the report.
