The Golden Jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2019, kicked off in the capital city of Goa, Panaji today. The opening ceremony for the 8-day long event was held at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in the city.

During the opening ceremony of Asia’s biggest film festival, Superstar Rajinikanth was conferred with the Special Icon of Golden Jubilee award. Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was also present along with Rajnikanth during the opening ceremony.

This is the first time since 2014 that both Rajnikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are seen together at the event.
