Aadhaar Card Update: Know How To Change Aadhaar Card Old Photo

In India, the Aadhaar card is seen as one of the most important documents and required to avail various services offers by the banks, government, and/or other state-backed agencies. In the past years, a large number of Indian citizens have applied for the Aadhaar card when the Indian government had made it a mandatory document.

We all have seen our photos on the Aadhaar card. The Aadhaar card photos, in some cases, are unrecognizable. However, UIDAI now allows Aadhaar cardholders to change Aadhaar Card old photo. Changing the Aadhaar old photo requires cardholders to submit the request online, and then visit an Aadhaar centre where their new photo will be captured. Updating photos in the Aadhaar card needs you to follow the below-given steps.

Steps To Update Photo In Aadhaar Card

Step 1: Firstly, download Aadhaar Enrolment Form from the UIDAI official website.

Step 2: Now, fill in the required details and visit a nearby Aadhar Enrolment centre. 

Step 3: After this, submit the duly filled form to the Aadhaar Enrolment executive. 

Step 4: He/she will verify the details via biometric verification.

Step 5: The executive will now take your new photo at the Aadhaar Sewa Kendra.

Step 6: Pay a fee of Rs 25 + GST for the photo update service. 

Step 7: You will get an acknowledgement slip and update request number (URN) as well.

Step 8: In the end, use the URN to check the status of the photo updating procedure online. 

Once the photo is updated, you can download an e-copy of your Aadhaar card. Aadhaar cardholders may also choose to apply for a physical PVC card from UIDAI’s official portal. Apart from photo updation, you can also update your phone number, address, and other details online or offline.
