A recent TikTok video made by user Shreyagid has gone viral on Twitter. The video has the girls in the house welcoming a new member, a dog, to their house by performing griha pravesh.
Yes, the same griha pravesh done to welcome Hindu brides in India when they enter their husband’s house after marriage for the first time.
In the video, a woman dips her puppy’s paws in the red alta (paint) which is then imprinted on a white sheet to mark its little paw marks entering for the first time. The elder woman of the house then welcomes the new member of the family with the traditional aarti ki thali.
