After Trains Domestic Flights Likely To Resume From 18th May

After the start of passenger train operation from Tuesday that is 12th May flights may soon follow. The government is likely to resume the operation of local passenger flights by 18 May. It is expected that airlines would be allowed to operate keeping in mind the social distancing norms.

The flights much like the trains are grounded since the 1st lockdown came into effect from 25th March. The lockdown which is closing in on the 50th day would see the 3rd phase completion on 17th May. The announcement in regards to the resumption of flights is likely to be made today as per inputs from Livemint.. Having the Arogya Setu app would be one of the necessary things for passengers looking to board these flights.

We are ready to start operations. Whenever the government permits us, we will take little time to resume“, said an official from the Airports Authority of India. Meanwhile, India is running 64 flights as a part of the largest evacuation mission Vande Bharat.

Under the mission, the government is bringing back the citizens who have registered for the comeback from 12 countries. The mission would also have it’s phase 2 in the time to come.
