Lifting our guards down for any mass gathering must be avoided. Such gatherings and events could amount to a large accumulation of people and thus it might lead to an upsurge in Covid-19 cases. Also, it will burden the healthcare system.

The Kerala Government has come under fire from the medical fraternity and the Supreme Court for lifting restrictions on account of Bakr Eid. The Supreme Court has asked the government to explain the reasons for relaxing Covid-19 restrictions between July 18 and July 20 for Bakr Eid celebrations.
