Here Are The 10 Major Points To Illustrate About The 90th Indian Air Force Day celebrations:
October 8 is celebrated every year as Indian Air Force Day and this year’s grand event in Chandigarh marked its 90th anniversary.
It’s the first time in history that the Air Force decided to perform its annual parade and fly past a city other than the National Capital.
Heavy security arrangements were organized days ago by the officials.
“The city administration also arranged shuttle services between alighting/parking points and Sukhna Lake to ferry people to the air show. The ferry services can be availed against an online payment of ₹20 through the Chandigarh Tourism app”.
Before the aerial demonstration, a ceremonial parade will be performed at Air Force Station inspected by VR Chaudhri, Air Chief Marshal.
The Chief also unveiled newly patterned uniforms for IAF personnel at the ceremony.
“The newly inducted indigenously-built Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) “Prachand” will also be a part of the fly-past in a three aircraft formation.”
At the time of the helicopter launch, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “There could not have been a better timing for LCH induction than Navratri and in the land of warriors, Rajasthan.”
The giant fly past, presided over by President Droupadi Murmu, was witnessed at Sukhna Lake at noon.
Among the line of combat helos, there are advanced and lightweight Dhruv, Apache, and Mi-17, which demonstrated their aerial capabilities.
