Airtel Rolling Out 5G Services, Learn How To Enable 5G On Your Smartphone

Sunil Mittal, Chairman, Bharti Airtel, has informed of launching their 5G services in the 8 cities of India. Including four other cities, Airtel 5G will be enabled for Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The other four city names are not revealed yet by the company.

In a couple of years, 5G services will live nationwide. By 2023 all the urban areas will be covered by the carrier network and by 2024 comes, the whole country will be enjoying 5G services, he further added.

Get The Information on 5G Network Availability

No matter how much you try, you will not be able to use the 5G network until you have the network coverage or availability in your area. Airtel has informed us that the ultra-fast network speed will be available only where the towers will be installed. Moreover, a 5 G-enabled smartphone is necessary to avail of the benefits. Currently, smartphones selling for or more than ₹20,000 have all the 5G requirements. However, there will be no need to purchase a new sim connection, meaning, your 4G sim can run 5G.

How You Can Check 5G Network Availability In Your Area And If Your Smartphone Supports The Coming 5G Services or Not?

To know if 5G is available in your area and if your smartphone supports the 5G services, users will have to download the Airtel Thanks app. Airtel has informed us that its Airtel Thanks app will show the 5G network coverage in a particular area and smartphone support when the 5G will launch.

Here Are The Steps To Activate 5G On Your Smartphone:

  • Access your smartphone’s settings menu.
  • Navigate to Network Connections.
  • Now tap on your preferred network mode 5G/4G/3G/2G.

After completing these steps the network mode will be set to 5G and once the network is available the 5G sign will replace 4G on the top.

Which Cities Are Getting A Live 5G Network Coverage First?

By Diwali, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, these cities will get to experience the ultra-fast speed of the 5G network with one setback. Only a few areas of the city will be able to utilise the services. Also, Delhi’s IGI Airport is the first to get 5G capabilities.

As per DOT, “13 cities will receive the 5G service in the initial phase. These are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Kolkata, Siliguri, Gurugram and Hyderabad”
