Achieving the record-breaking success for Women-led films, Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi collects around 9-10 Cr as opening amid pandemic as per Boxofficeindia. Gangubai Kathiawadi features a real story taken from the Novel ‘Mafia Queens Of Mumbai,’ written by ‘Husain Zaidi.’ This movie features a heart-throbbing tale of an innocent girl forced into the sex trade, where she creates her path towards shocking events.

When Mr. Bhansali speaks with Subhash K Jha, he reveals the eight minutes standing ovation that the movie got. He also said, “They clapped for eight minutes after the film was over. When I heard that standing ovation, I got my answer. It made all the pain and effort worth the while.”
