Alia Bhatt’s look from her most awaited movie of this year ‘ Mafia Queen Gangubai Kathiawadi’ were shared on social media today. Both Alia and the Bhansali Productions took to social media to share the looks.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the life of Mumbai’s mafia boss Gangubai Kathiawadi, who was a sex worker and eventually became an underworld don in Mumbai. Bhansali’s movie is said to be based on the depiction of Gangubai in Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens Of Mumbai.
The Bhansali Productions tweeted the first look with the caption, “Strength. Power. Fear! One look, a thousand emotions. Presenting the first look of Gangubai Kathiawadi. In cinemas 11 September 2020”.
Alia took to Instagram to share two looks of “Gangubai”. The one is a younger version of the character where she sports a mole on her left cheek with neatly parted hair braided with ribbons.
The second look is of a mature “Gangubai” with a red bindi and intense look where the eyes seem to be doing the talking. This would be Alia’s first movie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Alia’s co-star in the movies is Ajay Devgan who would play a mobster that eventually falls in love with Gangubai while teaching her the tricks of the trade. As per the posters shared by Alia, the movie is slated to hit the theaters on September 11 this year.
