All You Need To Know About Davinder Singh: J&K DSP Arrested For Terror Links

While the mainstream media is not paying much attention to the issue, a serious incident of arrest of a senior police officer of the rank of DSP (Deputy Superintendent) traveling along with terrorists was made on 11th January by the J&K Police.

The incident that has very high complications for India’s internal security has been put on the backburner by the media. Thus, feeling the need to explain and put forward the facts and details about the incident we are here with the complete information.

Who Is Davinder Singh?

Well, by the heading you might have got an idea that this man is a DSP in J&K Police but there is more to know about him. The police officer who joined as a Sub-Inspector in 1990 has had an illustrious career spanning 3 decades. The DSP was due to be promoted as SP in few months time. That’s not all the man is a recipient of medal from the state government.

The officer has also served in Special Operations Group (SOG) and UN Peacekeeping Mission in Kosov. Such assignments are offered to officers with good service record which is one reason why it raises eyebrows when the officer is seen linked with terrorists. The man is also named by Parliament attacks mastermind Afzal Guru who blamed him for torturing in the jail. Cases of custodial death under his trials have also surfaced in the past.

What Is The 11th January Incident?

On 11th January DSP Davinder Singh was ferrying 3 persons in a private vehicle who are top terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen. The DSP was allegedly helping the terrorists to get out of the valley who were planned to undertake terror strike.

The arrest was made by a DIG level Police officer at a checkpoint on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway which shows the ‘high profile of the case. 2 AK 47 and grenades were discovered from the car.

As of now, the officer is suspended and the investigations are going on. As per interrogations, DSP Davinder Singh has revealed that he visited Chandigarh in June 2019 along with three Hizbul terrorists and stayed in the city for two days.

It has also been revealed that in June 2019 when the security agencies stepped-up offensive against anti-social elements in Srinagar, Davinder Singh had taken the Hizbul terrorists to Pathankot between June 25 and 26. He also took the ill terrorist to a government hospital in Sector 32. They are believed to have met two Kashmiri students studying in a Mohali-based college.

As per sources, these terrorists arrested along with the DSP were planning attacks in Chandigarh, Punjab or Delhi. The investigation and security agencies are now trying to find out what was the motive behind Davinder and the Hizbul terrorists’ visit to Chandigarh. Was it just a normal visit or were they there to do a recce.
