In a surprise decision two months after bidding adieu to international cricket, Amabyati Rayudu has decided to make a return to the 22-yard. Rayudu, in a letter, he has written to Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), urged the same to consider his comeback in all formats of cricket.
In an email sent to HCA’s CoA on Thursday, Rayudu wrote, “I would like to bring to your notice that I would like to come out of retirement and play cricket in all formats.”
Adding that his decision to retire was an emotional one he said, “I want to take this opportunity to thank Chennai Super Kings, VVS Laxman and Noel David, who have been very supportive during the tough time and are instrumental in making me realise that I have enough cricket left in me.”
“I am looking forward to a wonderful season ahead with a very talented Hyderabad team and help the team realise its full potential. I will be available from September 10 to join the Hyderabad team,” he added.
In reply to Raydu’s request, HCA’s CoA subsequently sent out a mail saying, “This is to inform you that Rayudu has withdrawn his announcement of retirement and has made himself available for the shorter format of the game for HCA for 2019-20.”

For the inundated, Rayudu during the course of Cricket World Cup 2019 had announced retirement from all forms of cricket including the IPL. This came after he was ignored by the selectors for the preferred 15-man squad for the World Cup 2019.
Although Rayudu was a part of the standby list for the World Cup, he didn’t make it to the playing 11 despite injuries to Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar. Notably, Team India selectors preferred Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal as replacements over Rayudu leaving him irked.
