Tensions between India and Pakistan are brewing ever since India announced the removal of article 370 granting special status to Kashmir. Since then several threats and warnings have come from Pakistani ministers and PM about a full-scale war.
Amidst all these happenings an interesting development has taken place. An Ex-MLA from Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party has requested PM Modi for Asylum. The Ex-MLA Baldev Singh is staying in his in-laws house in Punjab since last month.
Minorities Under Threat In Pakistan
Baldev says that minorities are facing threats of survival in Pakistan. Baldev himself belongs to the Sikh community which is a minority in Pakistan. He further adds that atrocities and killings of minorities have increased drastically in the past few years. Baldev also highlighted the issue of forcible conversions that haunts minority community people in Pakistan.
People Are Looking To Immigrate
Baldev claims that many people from the minority community especially the Hindus and Sikhs want to migrate from Pakistan. Incidentally, most of the Hindu and Sikh minority people have their ancestral home or relatives in India like Baldev.
