Apple Expands Self-Repair Program Availability for iPhones and Macs Across Several Nations

Apple’s self-service repair program has expanded to 24 more nations, including Croatia, Denmark, Greece, and Switzerland. The initiative is also being expanded to cover the current iPhone 15 series as well as M2-powered Macs including Apple the 15-inch MacBook Air, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio. As a result, Apple’s self-service repair is now available in 33 countries, covers 35 models, and is available in 24 languages.

For those unfamiliar, Apple’s Self-Service Repair program debuted in April 2022. Individuals with appropriate experience fixing electronic devices can gain access to Apple repair manuals, actual Apple components, and the equipment required to repair Apple products. These are the same tools that Apple Authorized Service Providers and Apple Stores utilize.

This program is Apple’s method of providing people with greater choice over how they use and maintain their devices, removing the need to visit an Apple-branded service repair centre regularly.

The service is extending to additional countries and including more devices, as well as incorporating Apple Diagnostics for the self-repair program. This will allow users to diagnose and troubleshoot Apple products for optimal functioning, determining which parts of a device may require repair or replacement.

However, if consumers lack experience fixing electronics, it is not suggested that they conduct their own repairs. In this instance, according to Apple, “visiting a professional Apple Authorized Service Provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts—designed and tested to internationally recognized standards—is the safest and most reliable way to get a repair.”
