Artist Brings Moon To Bengaluru Streets To Reach Civic Body

An artist’s penchant for drawing people’s attention at a particular subject in the most creative way is undying. And a Bengaluru based artist is here with an example. A 45-second video that has been doing the rounds on the web, shows an artist recreate a scene like he is walking on the moon, to highlight the lunar crater-sized potholes in the city.

Baadal Nanjundaswamy, the city-based artist in the video can be seen dressed in a spacesuit. He then steadily – like an astronaut – walks across the pothole that in the initial seconds of the clip looks like the moon’s uneven surface. Only after a matter of seconds, a car enters the frame revealing the gigantic pothole. The aim was to draw the attention of BMC officials towards the tattered condition of the roads.

The potholes problem in Bangalore is no alien to our ears. And a lack of effort from the authorities to tackle the same leaves people irked. Apart from slowing vehicular passage, the potholes are also a reason behind several deadly accidents in the past.

Baadal Nanjundaswamy while sharing the clip tagged several BBMP officials. The clip has been shared across social media platforms and has garnered quirky responses from the users.

This is, however, not the first time Baadal Nanjundaswamy’s has used his exceptional talent to serve a cause. In the past, the artist has been a part of several street art installations that highlight the pothole problem in the city.
