After waiting for almost a year, finally, fans got to see their favorite Avengers back on the screen. Okay, some of the Avengers might be missing in the beginning but the end is something that you should go and see by yourself.
Endgame is already epic
Shows are houseful, even after a week and not just in India but in many other places of the world as well. Theatres are doing early morning shows (of Avenger: End Game), just to make sure all the fans get to see their favorite superheroes fighting for the last hope.
Now you might not believe this but Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame is swiftly moving to cross the Rs 300-crore mark in India. It has already surpassed the first-week collection of Avenger: Infinity War, which was released in 2018.
Endgame has collected Rs 157.2 crore at the Indian box office in the first weekend of its release. But is it too soon to assume it will cross the mark of Rs 300 crore?
Set to cross Rs 300 crore mark
After collecting 157.2 crores on the first weekend of its release, Marvel Avengers had given a good competition to other Bollywood movies. This has placed this Hollywood film in the league of blockbuster Bollywood movies.
The film was expected to do well at the box office, but the results are more than what anyone had expected. Suniel Wadhwa, who is an independent distributor and box office analyst, says “Earlier, it was impossible that a Hollywood film with dubbed versions could deliver a collection above Rs 100 crore in the first weekend. Today, it’s a reality.”
Fans are excited to see their heroes fighting their last war. You might not know but this is the last Avenger film that we are going to see. After that, the franchise is over. Not just this but reportedly, Avenger Endgame is the last film with Stan Lee’s cameo. Stan Lee is the creator of many Marvel superheroes. Just like you and me, he was also a fan of superheroes and comics.
One can’t forecast the Endgame’s lifetime collection at this point of time. But it is clear that Avengers: Endgame might become the first Hollywood movie to cross the Rs 300 crores mark in Bollywood screens.
Okay, but what’s so special about this?
In Bollywood, there are only eight movies which have become the part of 300 crores club. All the 8 movies were released in at least 4,000 screens. But when we are talking about Avengers: Endgame, the release was limited to only, 2,800 screens.
The movie was released in three languages in India, including Hindi, English, and Tamil. Apart from English, the movie has made Rs 53.1 crores on its first day of release. This has made the film highest opener of the year.
People shouldn’t be surprised to see the hype of the Avengers: Endgame. It was known from the very beginning that Marvel has got a big fan base in India. And knowing Endgame is the last film in which fans might see all of their favorite superheroes.
