Bank Holiday Updates: Banks Will Remain Close For Straight Four Days In These Cities

Get complete your banking tasks as banks are likely to be closed for four days in a row in some cities. The banks will remain close from 13th August to 16th August, as per the ‘bank holiday calendar’ retrieved from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The Reserve Bank of India bank holiday calendar states that the banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in August. Out of these 15 holidays, seven days will be usual weekend offs (the second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sundays) and eight of the holidays are due to festivals.

However, before visiting the bank branch in the coming weeks, check the lists of bank holidays.

August 13: August 13 is a Patriot’s Day in Imphal.

August 14: Banks will remain closed because of the second Saturday.

August 15: Sunday – public day and Independence Day.

August 16: Banks in Maharashtra will remain closed on August 16 due to Parse New Year.

Additionally, banks in most states will be closed on August 19 due to Muharram. Some of the states are Gujarat, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and other states.

On August 30, banks in Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and few other states will observe a holiday due to Janmashtami.

21 August 2021: Thiruvonam (Kerala)

22 August 2021: Weekly off (Sunday)

23 August 2021: Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi (Kerala)

28 August 2021: Fourth Saturday

29 August 2021: Weekly off (Sunday)

31 August 2021: Sri Krishna Ashtami (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh)
