Bank Holidays: Banks Will Remain Shut Till November 14

All the banks, including the private and public sector banks, will remain closed for up to five days in a row this week, starting from Wednesday, November 10. November is usually the prime month of the festive season, which was observed last week this year during Diwali. During this week, various other festivals, like Chhath Puja in Bihar and Jharkhand, and Wangala festival in Shillong will be celebrated, starting from Wednesday. Private and public sector banks will remain closed for 17 days in the month of November.

As November is full of holidays and happiness for the bank officials. At the same time, it is creating issues for the general public whose work is getting stuck due to the same. But the struggle seems to continue until 14th November 2021. In case you were planning to visit please postpone it. Keeping in mind the festivities across the country Reserve Bank of India has fixed the number of Bank holidays to 11 this month. In total, banks will remain closed for 17 days this month, 11 days being the listed holidays and the rest being the weekends.

Well, you should also keep in mind that it should not make you worry too much of a concern as these holidays are state-wise. For this, only certain branches of the banks in respective states will remain shut on the mentioned holidays. These holidays are not uniformly distributed across the country, except for a few days. Like, if there is a bank holiday today in Patna and Ranchi for celebrating Chhath Puja or Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Sayan Ardhya) in Bihar and Jharkhand, but the banks will remain open in the other parts of the country. Let’s have a quick view of the full list of bank holidays this week, starting from November 10, 2021

November 10: Chhath Puja or Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Sayan Ardhya) – Patna, Ranchi
November 11: Chhath Puja – Patna
November 12: Wangala Festival – Shillong

Apart from the ununiform state-wise holidays. The banks will remain closed on the usual weekends. It must be noted that the weekend leaves are uniform in nature across the country. These are mentioned below:

November 13: The Second Saturday of the month
November 14: Sunday

So, in case you have any bank-related work pending or you want to withdraw cash, you must visit your nearest branch at the earliest as banks will be closed for there is a trail of bank holidays, starting from October 12. However, these holidays will not impact ATMs as they will continue to work without any disruption despite the bank holidays.
