Bank Holidays In October: Banks To Remain Closed For 21 Days; Check The Lists Here

The bank holidays in October 2021 are quite extensive. The Reserve Bank of India has released the official list of holiday’s shows a total of 21 days of bank holidays in the upcoming month. Out of this, the official RBI bank holidays counts 14, whereas the other seven days are weekend leaves, including the second Saturday, Sunday, and fourth Saturday.

The RBI’s holiday list is categorized as religious holidays, state-wise celebrations, and festival celebrations. Looking at the official classifications, the list of Reserve Bank of India mandated holidays is grouped under the categories of ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act’, ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act’, ‘Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday’ and ‘Bank’s Closing of Accounts’.

12) October 16 – Durga Puja (Dasain) / (Gangtok)

13) October 17 – Sunday

14) October 18 – Kati Bihu (Guwahati)

15) October 19 – Id-E-Milad/Eid-e-Miladunnabi/Milad-i-Sherif (Prophet Mohammad’s Birthday)/Baravafat / (Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram)
