Barbados Island Is Inviting People To Work Remotely By the Beach For Up To A Year

Am I only the one who can’t feel his bum after long hours of working from home? Well, surely not, I bet. With that being a pain, I am sure at least once in the past months you must have thought what it would have been like to work from somewhere in the mountains or a beach?

Well, that dream of yours might soon become a reality. Barbados, a Caribbean island, is calling people to work from the beach by introducing special visas for them.

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley announced in a speech that the Barbados government is developing a 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp—a special visa for remote workers who want to work from an Island for up to a year.

The same is currenttly in development and details will be rolled out soon. However, the PM had said that the stamp will “allow people from the United States, Europe, and Latin America to come and do their jobs digitally for a couple of months and then go back home, if they feel they can work better in a more relaxed atmosphere such as next to a beach.”

The prospect doesn’t only allow people to relax at a beach while working but will also help Barbados earn some cash. Barbados’s economy is depended on travel and tourism it provides and has been hit by COVID-19 restrictions.
