7 Better Versions Of Ramayana Than Adipurush

The movie Adipurush, starring Telugu actor Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana has been released. Although the movie’s release has met with awful reviews, receiving harsh criticism for its plot, VFX, and dialogues. Due to its upsetting and bad language, which ruined the Hindu epic Ramayana, the audience is very upset with the making of the movie. 

Adipurush is not the first movie to adopt the Ramayana on the screen. There were many other Ramayana adaptations have existed in the past that was far more relevant and authentic than the recent movie Adipurush.

Better Versions Of Ramayana Than Adipurush

1. Ramayan Television Series by Ramanand Sagar (1987)

The epic Ramayana was turned into a television program called Ramayana in 1987. Arun Govil played Lord Rama, Deepika Chikhalia played Devi Sita, and Sunil Lahiri played Lord Lakshman in this legendary television serial. In 2020, during the COVID-19 shutdown and outbreak, the program was rebroadcasted on Doordarshan channel after 33 years. Ramayana rose to become the most-watched TV program in the world at the time, with 7.7 crore viewers.

2. Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama (1992)

One of the greatest versions of the epic is Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. This anime movie was made by Yugo Sako, a Japanese director. The movie was Co-produced by India and Japan. The movie was banned in India as a result of the 1992 Babri Masjid riots. The movie was ultimately shown on Doordarshan in its Hindi dub. The movie has shown excellent animation. 

3. Ramayan (2002)

This was a television show that aired on ZEE TV between 2001 and 2002. The BR Chopra production’s television adaption of the Hindu epic Ramayana was a great and huge success. Nitish Bharadwaj played Lord Rama, while Smriti Irani played Devi Sita. 

4. Ramayan (2008)

This version was a remake of the Ramayana adaption by Ramanand Sagar. Gurmeet Choudhary played Lord Rama in this scene, and Debina Bonnerjee played Devi Sita. , The Ramayana television series was shown on NDTV Imagine. 

5. Ramayana: The Epic (2010)

After the Japanese version of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, this is another animated version of the Ramayan.The Ramayana: The Epic was the name of the Indian animated film. Warner Bros. India released it in 2010. Juhi Chawla, Manoj Bajpayee, and Ashutosh Rana are three renowned actors that voiced characters in the movie.

6. Ramayan: Sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar (2012)

The show was broadcasted on ZEE TV four years after the 2008 Ramayana. The Ramayan: Sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar was the name given to the adaptation. Gagan Malik played Lord Rama, Rucha Gujarati played Devi Sita, and Neil Bhatt played Lakshman in this 2012 production.

7. Siya Ke Ram

This program was presented from Maa Sita’s perspective. This television program, which ran from 2015 to 2016, was based on the epic Ramayana. Devi Sita was portrayed by actress Madirakshi Mundl, and Lord Rama by actor Ashish Sharma. The program did well and drew a healthy audience.
