Microsoft co-founder and world’s second-richest man, Bill Gates, has ordered himself first of its kind ‘Aqua’ superyacht priced at a whopping Rs. 4,600 crore. What makes the yacht one of its kind is the fact that it uses liquid nitrogen as fuel, which means the only thing it emits out as waste is water.
For the unknown, this would be the first yacht that Bill Gates would own. He, as per a report by Hindustan Times has never been an owner of a yacht despite the fact that he is a frequent traveler. Gates usually would rent a yacht for holidaying purposes when needed.
The yacht is 370 ft long in size and comes tucked with luxurious amenities like a gym, yoga studio, beauty room, massage parlour and cascading pool on its 5 decks. The yacht can home 14 guests and 31 crew members.
Hydrogen fuel works by creating electricity by mixing hydrogen and oxygen in specially treated plates, which are combined to form the fuel cell stack. This ensures no harmful gas is emitted in the environment that could damage the same.
As per a report by The Guardian, the superyacht will only be delivered to the 64 years olds till 2024. And when it does, it has the potential to reach speeds of 17 knots (about 20mph) and travel 3,750 miles (or roughly London to New York) before it needs to refuel.
