In a fatal incident, a bomb blast at Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani’s campaign rally has killed 8 people leaving several injured. There has also been a blast in central Kabul, neither claimed by any group. Reportedly, Ghani was present at the time of the explosion but is safe and unharmed. The attacks come ahead of presidential election in Afghanistan scheduled for 28 September. Although not confirmed, the involvement of the Taliban in the attacks seems certain, as they have vowed to disrupt the election.
