‘Bollywood Can’t Afford Me, Don’t want To Waste My Time’, Says Mahesh Babu

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s statement about Bollywood is trending these days. He stated during the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Major’. The film will be produced by his own production house.

Mahesh Babu About His Bollywood Plans

When asked about his plans of working in Bollywood, he said that Bollywood cannot afford him. He said that the love he receives from the Telugu industry is enough and he enjoys his present status of stardom. He has no plans of working in Bollywood.

While sharing his thoughts, he gave the statement to PTI in which he said, “I may sound arrogant, but I did get a lot of offers in Hindi. But I think they can’t afford me. I don’t want to waste my time.  The stardom and love I have here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of going to another industry. I always thought I will do films here and they will become bigger, and my belief is turning into a reality now. I can’t be happier.”

However, “ Prince of Tollywood” is loved for his looks and work by the Hindi belt audience also. His next film ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ is releasing on 12 May. The film is directed by Parasuram. In this film, actress Keerthy Suresh will be seen with Mahesh Babu.

Breaking Bollywood Records

Over the past few months, south Indian films such as, ‘RRR’, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ have emerged as PAN India mass entertainers and have broken many Bollywood box office records.

Mahesh Babu began his acting career in 1989 with a film titled Poratam. He comes from the family of Telugu actor Krishana and is his son. He is married to actress Namrata Srirodkar since 2005 and has two kids, Gautam and Sitara. Past 20 years, Mahesh Babu has worked in more than 40 films.

His remarkable works include movies such as Businessman, Srimanthudu, Athadu, Pokiri, Athidhi, Dookudu, Spyder, Bharat Ane Nenu, and Maharshi.

During the trailer launch of ‘Major’ he also said, “I always wanted to do Telugu films and wished people across India would watch it. And now when that is happening I’m very happy. I always had this strong opinion that my strength is Telugu films and the emotion I understand is the Telugu film emotion.”

His film ‘Major’ will be released on May 27. The film is a multi-lingual biographical drama that will be based upon the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred during Mumbai Terror attacks of 2008.
