Bridge Worth 264 Crore Constructed In 8 Years Collapses Less Than A Month After Inaugration By Chief Minister

Corruption runs in the veins of almost all the government departments and it doesn’t pay heed to the fact that this can put to threat a number of lives. This is what has happened in this case where a whopping Rs 264 crores bridge was not able to survive even a month. Interestingly the bridge was integrated by the state Chief Minister.

A portion of the Sattarghat bridge on Gandak river in Bihar that took 8 years to build collapsed 29 days after its inauguration by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on June 16. It is said that the bridge collapsed after the water flow increased in the river due to incessant rainfall over the last few days. The question straightaway goes to the material used and the quality of construction as the bridge couldn’t survive water flow being not even a month old.

The bridge was a connection between the districts of Muzaffarpur and Motihari. The CM Nitish Kumar. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and former Deputy CM has sought a clarification from the CM. “Bhishma Pitamah of organized corruption, Nitish ji, will neither say a word on this nor will he sack the corrupt Minister of Construction. Loot has been going on all around Bihar”, said Yadav.
