The Wuhan Virus (also know as the mystery virus) has seen a rise in the number of cases to 400 with close to 9 deaths being reported. The Chinese health authorities have confirmed that 440 cases were registered as of Tuesday.
The SARS Coronavirus is known to have the capability of spreading through people to people contact. Over 2,197 cases of close contact with patients had been confirmed and there are evidences of “respiratory transmission” of the virus said National Health Commission Vice-Minister Li Bin.
Mr. Li Bin has also presented a possibility that the virus can mutate and spread further in the country. The central Chinese city of Hubei is seen as the center for the outbreak of the virus.

The health commission has asked to minimize public gatherings and people across the country were urged to avoid densely populated areas in general to prevent the spread of virus. China is looking to step up cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) in this matter.
Containing the virus would be a real challenge for the Chinese health officials as millions of people are expected to travel across the country for this week’s Chinese New Year holiday. Disinfection and ventilation at airports, train stations, and shopping centers are being conducted.

The officials are also planning for temperature checks at crowded areas. Meanwhile Airports around the world have tightened screening of travelers from China as officials confirmed the coronavirus strain is contagious between humans.
