4 Indian Celebs Who Posted About #BlackLivesMatter But Didn’t Utter A Word About Jayaraj & Bennix Killing, Why?

Over the past few days, there has been an uproar in Tamil Nadu after a father-son duo named Jayaraj & Bennix was brutally beaten and killed in police custody after being arrested for opening their shop beyond the permitted hours.

Since then, 1000s of people are gathering every day in Tamil Nadu gathered to launch protests against police and the administration; demanding the arrest of the people involved in Jayaraj & Bennix Killing.

Nevertheless, what is more disappointing and disturbing that so many days have passed but many celebs, who spoke so much about black lives matters, have not uttered a word about, what we would say is a worse scenario.

1. Sonam Kapoor, who recently deleted her Twitter handle, hadn’t spoken a word on the issue but had called out the US for promoting racism.

2. Karan Johar had posted a black picture seeking justice for George Floyd’s murder in the US but hasn’t buzzed a word about Jayaraj & Bennix yet.

3. Actor Malaika Arora had posted this on her Instagram story during the Black Lives Matter protests. However, the same support wasn’t lent by her for Jayaraj & Bennix.

4. Similarly, Sara Ali Khan has also been quiet about the issue.

Meanwhile, there are many celebs who have come out to raise their voice against the injustice done in Tamil Nadu.

The selective activism is sickening. And I would recommend our celebs to not speak at all if they want to be very precise of what injustice they want to speak on and what they don’t
