China Declines Trump’s Offer Of Mediation With India, Says No Need Of 3rd Party

As the tensions between India and China escalated on the border the U.S. President jumped in. The U.S. President Donald Trump presented himself as a mediator just like he did in Kashmir matter with Pakistan. However, the dragon nation has brushed aside the offer.

China who is having tensed relations with the U.S. said there was no need for a third party to mediate between the two countries. China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian made the announcement on Friday. India followed it up with a similar response.

India’s external affairs ministry had on Thursday tacitly rejected Trump’s initial offer to mediate. India said it is directly engaged with China to resolve the matter peacefully. “ We have informed both India and China that the United States is ready, willing, and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute. Thank you!“, tweeted Trump on Wednesday.

The border tensions between the two nations seemed to get worse when the Chinese President urged his military forces to prepare for combat. A series of negotiations and talks between the 2 countries have hinted at a peaceful resolution. However, both sides are maintaining their increased deployment at Line of Actual control aka LAC.
