This recruitment drive aims to fill 560 positions within the organisation:
- Mining – 351 posts
- Civil – 172 posts
- Geology – 37 posts
Selection Process
- “To be eligible, candidates are required to have participated in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2023). Based on the GATE-2023 scores and specific requirements, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, with a ratio of 1:3 in order of merit, for further stages of the selection process. The final merit list for each discipline will be compiled based on GATE scores.”
Application Fee
- “General, OBC and EWS category candidates are required to pay Rs. 1000, along with applicable GST, totaling Rs. 1180. While SC, ST, PwBD, and employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries are exempt from paying any application fees.”
Age Limit
- “The upper age limit for general (UR) and EWS category candidates is 30 years as of August 31, 2023. But there are certain relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to other categories.”

Eligibility Criteria
Mining
“Candidates must have a degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 60 percent marks.”
Civil
“Candidates should possess a degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60 percent marks.”
Geology
“Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60 percent marks.”
