The player auctions for the 13th edition of the world’s costliest domestic T20 league are scheduled to be held in December this year. The auction for IPL 2020 is scheduled for December 19th.
This time around there are possibilities of the auction being held in Kolkata. Generally, the auction event takes place in Bengaluru; however the last time it saw a change in venue to Jaipur.
IPL 2020 auctions would be a one-day short term affair unlike the full-fledged auctions held in the past. As per the BCCI, the trading for the auction is to be done by 14th November for the auction to take place in December.
Delhi Capitals would come in the auction with the biggest purse available (Rs 8.2 crore), followed by Rajasthan Royals at Rs 7.15 crore. A total of Rs 85 cores is allotted to the teams to build their sides for the tournament.
