Here’s How You Can Register To Get Covid-19 Vaccine In India

Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Covishield vaccine (developed by Oxford University and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca) have been given approval for emergency use in India by the Drug Control General of India.

Post-approval, now the government has the task to begin the biggest vaccination drive in the world to ensure that the COVID vaccine reaches everyone in need. And for the same, the government would be relying on the Co-WIN app.

As of now, the Co-WIN app is under construction and will not work if you download it. But it already has the data of frontline workers who will be the first to get the vaccine. Over 75 lakh health officials have registered for it already.

You, as not a frontliner, would be able to register once the app is available on App Store and Play Store.

Once live, the app will show everyone three options for registration including self-registration, individual registration, and bulk upload.

Once registered, you would be either called to vaccination camps to get the vaccine dose or the government might home deliver the same. There is no information in that regard as of now.

The app will also lend an option to report the adverse effects of the vaccine if any. Moreover, an e-certificate, confirming vaccination, will also be provided.

The first 100 million shots of Covishield, which Serum Institute of India (SII) will likely sell to the Indian government, will cost ₹200. A person will have to take two doses of the Covishield vaccine to gain full immunity.

Documents Required

To register, you will also need to upload a photo identity when using the app. It can be an Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, and others.
