Commonwealth Games 2022: Cricket Squads, Venue, Timings

T20 Cricket is making its first debut in Commonwealth Games or CWG 2022 with women’s T20 layout in Birmingham. This is the second time this sport is being introduced in an International Tournament, men’s list A cricket was played in 1998 which resulted in South Africa winning the Gold medal.

Commonwealth Games 2022: Teams Playing and Format

A single round-robin format is being adapted which will be followed by the playoffs in which a total of eight teams are playing.

In Group A: India, Australia, Pakistan and Barbados.

In Group B: England (Host), South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

CWG 2022: Timing, Schedule and Venue

The first match of the league will start between India and Australia on July 29. The venue will be the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in which all the matches are going to be hosted. Knockout matches will be played on August 6 and 7 after the match between Host England and New Zealand on August 4.
