Coronavirus Cases In Country To Be At It’s Peak In ‘June’, Says AIIMS Director

While the whole nation (and the world) is looking to get rid of the COVID-19 the director of India’s top hospital has given threatening predictions. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Dr Randeep Guleria has said that the peak is to come.

As per Dr. Guleria, there would be a peak in the number of cases in the month of June that is next month. “Going as per the trend, the peak [of coronavirus outbreak in India] is expected to be in June“, he said. The lockdown has been effective in keeping the cases low as compared to global trends he adds. The predictions are based on the modeling of data of the situation of the pandemic in the country.

Though he said that it’s difficult to predict the end of this pandemic but after the peak, there would be a slowdown. If Dr. Guleria’s prediction is to be believed then the nation would have to be under lockdown till June-July. He said that the recent spike in cases was because of the increase in testing, however, cases are now increasingly restricted to some areas or clusters.
