Coronavirus Vaccine ‘Trial’ Starts Today: U.S. Government

As the coronavirus has bought the whole world to standstill research on its vaccine is going at full pace. In that effort, the United States would begin the trial of vaccine from ‘Monday’ (that is today). As per officials from the U.S. government, the clinical trial is scheduled for Monday.

However, the announcement of the trial was not made public. As per reports from PTI the government has tried to maintain anonymity around the trials. The test would be conducted at Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. 45 young people would be administered the vaccine during the trial.

The goal of the trials is to check that whether the vaccines show no worrisome side effects, setting the stage for larger tests. Nations across the world are trying it hard to get the vaccine made. The virus so far has affected around 1, 50, 000 people globally causing more than 5, 500 deaths. As per officials, it takes a year to 18 months to fully validate any potential vaccine.

Health professionals across the globe are using a combination of “flu” vaccines and medicine to treat the patients. As per the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about 2 weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three weeks to 6 weeks to recover.
