Court Opens In Night Amidst ‘Lockdown’ To Marry This Indian With A Mexican

While everything is closed a court opened so that two lovebirds can tie the knot. The story is not from abroad but from our very own ‘India’. That too from the state of Haryana. The incident has come to light from Haryana’s Rohtak district.

A district magistrate court opened up on the night of 13th April to put the legal stamp on a marriage. The marrying couple was also unique. A Mexican wedding an Indian. Local boy Niranjan Kashyap married his Mexican fiance, Dana Joheri Oliveros Cruise.

The story of their meeting is also interesting. Kashyap met Dana on a language learning app. “We met on a language learning app. In 2017, she came to India on my birthday”, said Kashyap. “Then this February 11, Dana and her mother came to India for the wedding”, he adds.

On February 17, we applied for marriage under the Special Marriage Act which has a 30-day notice… The notice was to end on March 18 but by then the lockdown began so we could not get married. We submitted an application to the district collector after which the marriage was conducted“, he elaborated. Amidst the atmosphere of threat and fear as a result of the pandemic, this couple has found their happy moment.
