COVID-19 Breaches IPL 2021 Bio-Bubble: CSK vs RR Postponed? Read Full Details

The IPL 2021 takes a massive blow when two Kolkata Night Riders players – Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy, tested Covid-19 positive. According to a report, Chakravarthy who recently exited the bio-bubble for shoulder scans through a green channel may have contracted the Covid-19 virus first.

Just after this, the IPL 2k21 again in trouble as members from Chennai Super Kings tested positive for the Coronavirus, including bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji. After this news, it is more likely that the team will go into self-isolation to know further infections. It will also lead to postponing the IPL clash against Rajasthan Royals on 05th May 2021.

Know the latest update

Till now, the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad is on, but the game between CSK and RR is likely to get postponed as Balaji tested positive for COVID-19.

The official explained, “Coming to the league itself, we are looking at moving base to Mumbai, but are awaiting clearance from the Maharashtra government and once that is done, we will be good to go. Should take us another couple of days to get the clearance.”

What CSK Says about players found COVID-19 players and IPL 2021 upcoming match?

As per the report, Chennai Super Kings have informed the BCCI that they are not willing to take the field against Rajasthan Royals. The members will come back in action once the players clear all the three Covid-19 tests within six days.

The CSK officials told that “The coach is asymptomatic. However, as per the BCCI’s Covid protocols, everybody who has come in contact with him will have to undergo a six-day quarantine. We can’t play our next game (against Rajasthan Royals). The BCCI knows about the testing protocols and how many tests need to become negative before an all-clear is given. We have communicated it to the BCCI. They will have to reschedule the game between CSK and Rajasthan Royals.”
