Covid-19 In Delhi:165 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, 14 Deaths In 24 Hours

On Friday, in the past 24 hours, Delhi recorded 165 fresh Covid-19 cases and 14 deaths say the health department. Additionally, Delhi reported 260 recoveries in 24 hours. With this, the active cases in the city slow down to 2,445.

However, this number is quite more than what was recorded Thursday. On Thursday, India’s capital recorded 158 new cases and 10 deaths. Also, the positivity rate in the city had declined to 0.20 percent.

Till Thursday, the overall Covid-19 cases in Delhi stood at 14,31,868, whereas the positivity rate was 6.97 percent. The total number of deaths is 24,886 and 14,04,428 had discharged or recovered.

The Health Department says that 54,912 people have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours. Out of this, 36,413 received their first dose, whereas 18,499 received their second dose.

Luv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry, said, “We are seeing a downward trend inactive cases. Between June 11-June 17, the overall positivity case was less than 5% in 513 districts.

However, AIIMS COVID task force Chairman Naveet Wig said that the virus “has not been eradicated”. 

He additionally said that “It keeps changing its colors so we’ve to be smart. Clean mask & COVID appropriate behavior will help us and second, we are increasing vaccination. Everybody must get vaccinated.”
