Cyclone Nisarga To Soon Reach Mumbai’s Coast Landfall In Alibaug Between 1 PM To 4 PM

Mumbai is all set to receive the severest of the storm in about a century’s time as Nisarga is reported to be just 60 Kms away. The cyclone which would affect Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Nashik would make landfall at Alibaug. As per the latest inputs the time of landfall would be between 1 PM to 4 PM.

Rainfall has already started in Alibaug and would intensify as the cyclone would hit the shores. Affect is also started to be felt in the Bhavnagar region of Gujarat which is also under the alert. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said cyclone Nisarga will affect the coastal districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Gujarat, and other neighboring states.

Section 144 is imposed since yesterday in the city of Mumbai with all things from flights to trains being canceled. Mumbai which is also the worst affected city by COVID-19 in India had to close isolation wards due to cyclone. Teams of NRDRFs and SDRFs are on alert in the regions under threat.

As per IMD, the effect of the cyclone would be felt over the next 48 hours. Heavy rains would be showering on the 3rd and 4th of June. Nisarga comes just after a week of Cyclone Amphan which shocked India’s eastern coast.
