Australian batsman David Waner is out their offering support to professionals working to control the spread of coronavirus in his own way. The southpaw posted a video of him wherein he shaved his head to show his support to the frontliners working day and night to make the world, once again, that better place to live.
He also posted a photograph of him with a very short crop of hair with the message, “Been nominated to shave my head in support of those working on the frontline #Covid-19 here is a time-lapse. I think my debut was the last time I recall I’ve done this. Like it or not”.
Australia hasn’t had the best of times in a while as, since November 2019, it has seen an unprecedented boom in wildfires across the island country and now coronavirus. There are as many as 400 positive cases of coronavirus in Australia as per a report by the Hindustan Times. 19 people have died due to coronavirus till now.
Besides posting the video and picture, the cricketer further nominated the likes of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis among others to accept the challenge and shave their heads to show solidarity with those fighting to save the lives of others.
We haven’t seen Virat Kohli without a beard in years so trimming off his hair seems off context to me. But anyway, it would be fun to look at what reply Kohli comes up with.
