Delhi Government Lifts Weekend Curfew: Know More

In a meeting with Delhi government Anil Baijal LG of Delhi lifts weekend curfew. Odd even rule for markets have also been lifted which means markets can operate normally.

Restaurants and cinema halls are allowed to operate at 50% capacity as Covid cases have continued to drop. There is no news for school and colleges.

The restrictions were imposed due to rise in Covid cases earlier this month. They were imposed after a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority in which Anil Baijal along with CM Arvind Kejriwal was present.

The number of guests at wedding has been increased from 20 to 200. It comes as a relief as wedding season is at its peak.

However, night curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM will be enforced in the capital.

All government and private offices are allowed to operate with 50% capacity.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has expressed his concerns regarding closing of schools and colleges. He said that, “Delhi government would recommend reopening schools as it is necessary to prevent further damage to the social and emotional well-being of children”. He said that large numbers of parents agree with the decision.

For past week Delhi has recorded a continuous decline in number of Covid cases. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has said that situation is under control and very soon positivity rate will go below 10%. He said that it is advisable to lift weekend curfew.
