During weekend curfew only those people who were part of essential services were allowed to go out. People having emergency could also step out with valid identity cards. All the shops were ordered to be closed except for grocery stores and medical stores.

Yesterday, Delhi recorded a total of 12,306 fresh Covid cases and the number was 10.72 percent short from the previous day. However, 43 fatalities were reported, highest since June 2021. In January Delhi observed a peak of 30,000 cases per day.

Currently there are 70,000 active cases of Covid and the positivity rate is 20% which is a cause of concern for people. But nearly 53,000 Covid patients are in home isolation and 13,000 vacant beds are available in the capital. The authorities have marked this as a relief on medical infrastructure for now. Even if there is a sudden spike in cases, hospitals have enough resources to tackle the situation.

To encourage more and more people to take RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Test, Delhi government has capped the prices of tests. The rate of RT-PCR Test is capped at Rs 300 and RAT at Rs 100. The home collection facility for RT-PCR test is capped at Rs 500.

The government has advised the people to strictly follow Covid protocols and wear masks in public. Delhi metro and buses are currently operating at full capacity to avoid gatherings outside the metro and bus stations.
