Delhi Metro News: Entry Closed For These Metro Stations Till Further Announcement

Earlier, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had announced restricting entry at metro stations if social distancing and other COVID-19 protocol are not followed strictly. However, Delhi Metro closed entry at four metro stations for around 10 minutes. The stations were New Delhi, Patel Chowk, Chandni Chowk, and Chawri Bazar.

On 25th March, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said “the department will strengthen the reinforcement of social distancing and other Covid protocols and safety measures inside the metro premises.” Additionally, DMRC added to its statement that “While waiting in the queue, the passengers are required to wait on the marked social distancing stripes or circles. If passengers are not following these protocols at entry gates or stations then it will be closed for passengers at those stations until the distancing is ensured.”

On Tuesday, entries were restricted to four metro stations on the Yellow Line for a certain time due to overcrowding.

Now, DMRC has closed the entry for Shaheed Sthal temporarily to follow social distancing strictly. The only exit is allowed.

However, DRMC has updated the travellers that the Entry for Shaheed Sthal is now open through Twitter.
