Delhi-NCR Rocked By 2 Earthquakes In Span Of 60 Minutes, Making It 5th In Around 45 Days

After hit by its 4th earthquake just a fortnight ago the Delhi-NCR region was rocked by the 5th one yesterday night. A 5th earthquake in the region in around 45 odd days left the people worrying with pandemic already on their heads. This time the center of the quake was in Haryana. It was a twin quake.

2 earthquakes within a span of 60 minutes (an hour) hit the region with different intensities. The first of the 2 quakes had a magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Rohtak in Haryana at a depth of around 5 KM, said National Centre for Seismology. It hit around 9:08 PM last night.

The 2nd quake of lower intensity of magnitude 2.9 occurred at the same place around 10:00 PM. This pattern was similar to the last earthquake in Delhi where the 1st one was of high magnitude followed by a lower one. Tremors were felt in Delhi and in the nearby regions of Noida and Gurugram.
