With the ‘Delhi Assembly Election’ just a few days away Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto today. Though the manifesto had typical political promises on education, health, clean water, and 24-hour electricity one thing was unique.
The AAP has promised to implement the ‘Deshbhakti Curriculum’ or patriotic curriculum in Delhi’s school if they are elected back to power. This would be in addition to happiness curriculum and entrepreneurship curriculum that was introduced earlier by the government.
The manifesto also mentions Jan Lokpal and Delhi Swaraj Bill along with the full statehood for Delhi. The manifesto is arranged as 28 point program for Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while releasing the manifesto said that the vision is to make every family in the national capital prosperous.
‘Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill, which was passed in the state assembly in 2015, has been pending with the central government for the last four years. The AAP government will continue its struggle to get the bill passed’, said Sisodia.
Other highlights of the manifesto include ‘mohalla marshals’ and CCTV installation for women’s security, doorstep delivery of ration cards and run a pilot project to allow markets in the Capital to open 24 hours.
“After five years of working on the basic amenities of Delhi, we have to now take Delhi to the next level. We have to make Delhi the modern capital of a developed country that every human can be proud of,” said Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi assembly elections will be held on February 8. And, the votes will be counted on February 11.
