This raises the question, ‘Are digestive biscuits good for health?’ Certainly, these biscuits are healthy treat options, filled with the goodness of fibres and whole grains. Consider, you have consumed two digestive biscuits during your evening tea. On average these two biscuits contain about 150 calories, 20 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of sugar, 6 grams of fat, 2 grams of protein, 1 gram of fibre and 0.1 gram of sodium.

When compared with other nutrients that are present in the biscuit, the energy (calories) provided is way more than it should have. On the other hand, the rest of the nutrients don’t even provide 5% of the entire energy gained.

The Fiber Content In Digestive Biscuits

Meeting the daily fibre goals of the body helps alleviate constipation. It also helps to maintain a healthy body weight. However, our body is usually unable to reach that pre-determined goal on its own.

When it comes to digestive biscuits, fibres are one of the main components. But they can’t solely fulfil the fibre requirement of a body. It can help your body to push forward to reach that goal, but you can’t depend on them.

The fat these biscuits contain is considered unhealthy and the calories they have lack balance when compared to the other nutrients they contain.

3. Not Enough Fibre To Complete Your Diet

Though these biscuits contain protein and fibre, replacing them with your supplement is still not recommended. The quantity of protein and fibre they contain cannot provide a healthy balanced diet.

4. If You Have High BP, Stay Away From These Biscuits

An individual who faces the problem of high blood pressure is not suggested to eat them as the sodium count in these biscuits is very high. Eating 2-4 biscuits is just as bad as eating a packet of chips.

5. No Other Beneficial Vitamins Or Minerals Are Present In Them

They don’t contain any beneficial vitamins and minerals. Even the milk added to them is non-fat milk which lacks calcium.
