Chaos At Few Delhi Metro Station: DMRC Temporarily Restricts Entry At These Metro Stations

Due to chaos ensued at several Delhi metro stations falling at Red Line and Yellow Line, the DMRC temporarily restricts entry for few stations on these lines. This step is taken to ensure social distancing at the metro station.

These stations are Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, Saket, Kashmere Gate, and Qutub Minar. Taking to Twitter, the DMRC said that “the entry gates for these metro stations are closed to maintain social distancing as part of crowd control measures.

However, minutes after the announcement, the entry gates for Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, Qutub Minar, and Saket were opened. But, the entry gate of Kashmere metro station remains closed which also connects to the Red Line. In addition to these metro stations, the Seelampur metro station in Red Line closed temporarily.

To make sure the following of travel guidelines, Delhi Metro’s Flying Squads fined 526 commuters on 11 April 2021 for not following social distancing and/ or not wearing a face mask properly. Therefore, follow the covid-19 protocols and politely counsel others too to ensure safety during the Covid upsurge.
